We’ve been waiting for the official announcement, figuring it was going to come. The Washington Brewers Festival, usually held on Father’s Day weekend at Marymoor Park in Redmond, is not happening in 2021.
That’s the bad news that we all probably expected to hear, but there is some good news to share.
First up, they’ve already scheduled the event for June of 2022. Second, the Washington Beer Commission, which organizes and hosts most of the largest beer events in the state, is in the process of planning an event for this fall. Recognize that members of WABL, the official Washington beer fan club, will probably get notified first. Maybe that’s a reason to join WABL if you haven’t already.
Details about all of that in the official announcement below.
Washington Brewers Festival Update: The Annual Father’s Day Weekend Festival Will Return in June of 2022
After careful consideration, we are announcing that the Washington Brewers Festival, the state’s largest ticketed beer festival, will postpone its annual beer tasting event in 2021 and return triumphantly June 17-19, 2022, at King County’s Marymoor Park in Redmond.
Despite vaccination efforts and the gradual reopening of our state, the health and safety concerns for large gatherings without permanent designated seating remain an issue.
While we are disappointed to cancel the Brewers Festival for the second year in a row, and we will sorely miss celebrating with beer lovers and our craft brewing community, we are in the planning stages for a one-time, outdoor, Fresh Hop tasting event at Marymoor Park on October 8-9, of this year!
Stay tuned for an official announcement and more details about this exciting event in your May 5, WABL Newsletter.
