Reuben’s Brews and Ravenna Brewing releasing Crispy Shifty this Friday

To commemorate Seattle Beer Week, Reuben’s Brews teamed up with another local brewery for its Hometown Collaboration Series beer. This will be the second year for the series that the brewery plans to make an annual tradition. Although we are still waiting to learn more about this year’s plan for Seattle Beer Week, which happens in May each year, we know a couple of things. For instance, Reuben’s Brews and Ravenna Brewing teamed up for the Hometown Collaboration Series to create Crispy Shifty, a Northwest-style kellerbier.

As far as the shifty part is concerned, it’s not a reference to sneaky, shrewd, or dishonest behavior; rather, it refers to the comradery of hooking up with friends to enjoy a beer after your shift is done. Crispy Shifty will be available starting this Friday, April 23rd.

Understandably, the folks that organize Seattle Beer Week are being cautious this year. Our world is slippery right now and it wouldn’t be wise or safe to arrange and promote the kind of events that usually fill the calendar during SBW.

We know that there will be an official Seattle Beer Week beer this year, and we know that you can order your Seattle Beer Week T-shirt on the website. Stay tuned for any further developments.

And… Reuben’s Brews is moving forward with its second-annual SBW tradition: the Hometown Collaboration Series. Here is the release information from Reuben’s Brews.

CRISPY SHIFTY

HOMETOWN SERIES COLLAB WITH RAVENNA BREWING

For our second annual Hometown Collaboration Series release, which we brew each spring around Seattle Beer Week to celebrate our friends in the Seattle brewery community, we are excited to release Crispy Shifty, a Pacific Northwest-style kellerbier brewed with the good folks at Ravenna Brewing Company.

Crispy Shifty celebrates the great tradition of sharing a cold beer with friends at the end of your shift. Crisp and floral with Simcoe, Loral, and Hallertau Blanc, and a malt bill of German and Skagit Valley malts; this hoppy PNW kellerbier is the perfect shifty as far as our brewers are concerned.

Available beginning Friday at Ravenna Brewing and at the Reuben’s Brews Taproom and To-Go Store, alongside some awesome Crispy Shifty dad hats and fanny packs. Cans of Crispy Shifty will be hitting limited distribution beginning next week around the PNW.
