Figurehead Brewing is about to mark its 5th anniversary. They’re doing it right, with plans to celebrate for five days. They’ll also release some special beers for the occasion (details below). Located across the street from Fisherman’s Terminal in Seattle’s Magnolia neighborhood, the brewery and taproom will host live music, beer releases, and other activities to mark the occasion. It all gets started on September 2, 2021.
“The last five years, and especially the last year and a half, have had lots of ups and downs but we’re forever grateful for the amazing support from the local community,” says Bob Monroe, Figurehead Brewing’s founder. “We
wanted to take a pause and celebrate with our family, friends, and supporters, recognizing how far we’ve come.”
Figurehead Brewing created two special anniversary beers for the anniversary and will release them both on September 2nd. One is an American wheatwine, aged on French and Brazilian oak. The other is a red farmhouse-style IPA aged on Spanish cedar.
Both beers will be available in bottles with pre-sales beginning August 28th via the company’s website. The anniversary beers will get tapped at the brewery’s taproom on September 2nd.
The celebration will also feature live music daily in the Figurehead beergarden, a panel session with the three founders of Figurehead Brewing, raffle and door prizes, limited vintage beers, and the release of special
collaboration beer brewed with Decibel Brewing and Dirty Couch Brewing.
On Sunday, September 5th Figurehead hosts a food and beer pairing event with food provided by Midnite Ramen. The dinner features five diverse menu items prepared by chef Elmer Komagata paired with five different Figurehead brews. Tickets are limited and available now through the Figurehead website.
The brewery does not expect to receive any gifts for this birthday, but each day it will donate 10 percent of sales to non-profit organizations — a different one each day.

Figurehead Brewing Company was founded in 2016 by three homebrewing friends: Jesse Duncan, Bob Monroe, and Jesse Warner. The brewery is located in the Magnolia neighborhood of Seattle and produces a wide range of historically-inspired beers. The Figurehead taproom and beer garden is open 7 days a week.
